Constance Gleasman

Introduction

I would like to introduce myself. The name given to me by my parents is Constance (Connie) Gleasman.

I am a lifelong rural Rockton Township resident.

As a youth, I was a member of the Owen Blue Bonnets 4-H Club. I have been a leader of the club for 31 years. I have been and currently am a board member of the Winnebago County 4-H and Extension Foundation.

Additionally, I have been an active member of the Old Stone Church, where I served as the church moderator, a member of the building and grounds committee, and a choir member since the age of 14. I currently attend the First Baptist Church of Beloit, where I also sing in the choir.

I have a love of history and have been an active volunteer with Macktown Living History and the Rockton Township Historical Society.

I have been a business owner (painting contractor) for the past 40 years.

I feel the skills I have acquired running my business will be of benefit in my service as a trustee.

I am a staunch supporter of the Constitution of the USA and a proud resident of the state of Illinois and my local community.

My Christian beliefs teach that I am to serve others.

Others before me served to ensure that the opportunities available to me would be preserved.

Four years ago, I made the decision to run for Township Trustee.

You, the voters of Rockton Township, honored me by voting me into office. In my first term, I worked diligently for the people of the township.

My reason for running for trustee was to give back to the community. That reason still exists. I now have a greater understanding of the need for a team that will work together using the best practices outlined in the Laws and Duties Handbook of the Township Officials of Illinois.

I am asking for your vote, giving me the opportunity to serve you for another four years.
